The couple’s love story and proposal will warm your heart:
How They Met: Groom
We met on a professional website/platform (LinkedIn). She was in UK then. I sent her a message and she replied few days after. I was excited and also replied immediately. I requested for her number but she refused blatantly because I was a stranger. After persuading her for weeks, she finally promised to call me as soon as she gets back to Nigeria by 27th of August 2013. I was counting days from the day she promised to call. However, we kept on with the messages for weeks until few days before the day she had promised. I received a call from a lady with a Nigerian number. Lo and behold, it was her and I was dumbfounded cos all I was expecting was another excuse for not calling on the day as promised. Anyways, we met and went on a first date to Ketchup, Abuja. She was cute, homely and very reserved. Her composure was beyond imagination. She was well coordinated, eloquent and yet very open minded. I realized I really do not need anything more in a lady than all this qualities. We had several dates after and we became close and spent virtually every time together mostly at Close of Business. That doesn’t stop her from bringing me lunch most times and I think the food also played an important role? But above all, she’s my second MUM.
The Proposal: Bride
It wasn’t your usual proposal but exactly one year into the relationship, we were having misunderstandings like everything normal couple has. I was at his place to talk and as the arguments got to a point where we both knew it was either make or break. We paused and he got down on one knee and said “babe please don’t give up on me” and that was the deal breaker for me.
