OUK Foundation Is Set To Hold 2020 Igbere Cultural Festival

The Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation OUKF, a non-governmental organisation, brain behind Igbere Cultural Festival has kick-started preparation for the 3rd edition of one of the most talked about cultural festivals in Nigeria.

This was contained in a statement by the Secretary Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, Rev. Mrs. Jemaima Ola Kalu.

The event which will feature local boxing contest, beauty pageant, lecture, drama, dancing competition and poetry, is scheduled to hold on January 2, 2020 at the pavilion of the Igbere countryhome (Camp Neya) of Dr. Orji Kalu.

Igbere is an ancient kingdom in Bende LGA, Abia State. With beautiful and amazing landscape, also, blessed with a serene environment.

During this year cultural festival, the founder of the OUKF, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, made a statement, he said; “in five years time, Igbere will be the centre if carnivals in Nigeria, foreigners will be coming here. Then we would have built good hotels and destination sites that will attract them”.

“This culture will be sustained and will be used to drive unity and oneness among our people.”

Looking at things, it seems what he said is coming into a glance as the event has earlier kick started its preparation for the next year event with a theme: “Understanding Motivations Benefit of Cultural Festivals”.
