The weekend game turned out to be a rustic one for Manchester United – the red side. When they were hoping to get some sort of redemption from the vitality stadium, rather they got further decimation. Manchester United were embarrassed by the resurging cherries after fielding a team comprising most under-21’s due to their injury frailties which affecting about ten players.
The Cherries took the lead two minutes into the game from a rare set-piece wonder goal by Stanislas. We could observe that King almost put the cherries two goals up when he nearly went round goalie De Gea. Hopefully the fantastic keeper saved Manchester United’s blushes with a fine save.
Felllaini saw the net not too long after King’s attempt with a lot of effort to poke the ball in when he attempted on the rebound after Depay’s shot was shut out by a dramatic Boruc’s save. But Manchester United couldn’t weather a side with so much pace after fielding a defence of under-21’s leaving Blind as the only senior player leading the back line.
King put the cherries up front in the second half. He was assisted from a corner kick set piece from Stanislas after loosing his marker; Daley Blind easily and slid the ball into the net easily from the 6 yard box.
Don’t you see this as tragedy for Manchester United?
Manchester United tried looking for an equalizer but Bournemouth defence denied them that. Glen Murray almost put them further up after loosing Varela easily only for him to blast the ball to row-z. The cherries took advantage of a poor shambolic defence and put more threats to United’s defence and 19 year old borthswick-Jackson was singled out for under performance. The game ended 2-1 in favour of the cherries and Manchester United went home after a woeful display.
Apparently Van gaal has more work to do. What can rejuvenate this side?
