Chris Enahoro: Ace Nigerian tennis promoter dies at 80

With heavy heart, we announce the passing on of Nigerian sports legend Chris Enahoro. He died at his Lagos home on Thursday, January 19. May his soul rest in peace.

Until his death, he was the coordinator of the Chevron Tennis Masters, reputed to be the production line of today’s top tennis players. Enahoro, a former schoolboy athlete, who in the 1950s and early 60s held the West African high jump record, reportedly died after a brief illness. The former Government College Ibadan old boy, who played football for the defunct Western Region and was also captain of Nigerian cricket national team,, died after a brief illness.
