MC Anoti: Fast Rising Comedian to Look out for

MC Anoti is a talented comedian widely known throughout the Northern part of Nigeria. He’s been a sought after MC for so many popular and noteworthy events from across the country. His aim and ambition, according to him is to get global. The full interview conducted by Eventnews Africa is seen below:

EN: Please introduce yourself

MC Anoti:  My name is Oluwanishola Abdulazeez Ogunde, but my stage name is MC Anoti. I hail from Ogun State. And I am a comedian of the Federal Republic of Naija.

EN: How long have you been in the comedy industry, and how did you get started?

MC Anoti: Its been 7 years now; my comedy career started from Secondary School days. I was usually called to perform on all social events because my schoolmates and teachers find me very funny, from there the desire to make people laugh started growing in me.

EN: Who were the first influences on your comedy and style?

MC Anoti: I would say Fat Mike- a father in comedy from the North, and a friend in the industr4y. Mc Freshboy and Crazy Guy.

EN: In your opinion who do you think is the most influential and successful comedian in the industry today and


MC Anoti: I’d say Basketmouth . The guy’s just unique.

EN: What do you think interest people mostly about your comedy style?

MC Anoti: That will be my use of local dialects and stage drama. I can be very dramatic.

EN: If you could choose to work with some of today’s established comedians, to move your game to

the top, with whom would you like to collaborate?

MC Anoti: That will definitely be Ayo Makun (AY).

EN: Which ingredient do you think is most essential in making your jokes and style the way it is?

MC Anoti: Ingredient? Curry abi knor cube? I think I am my ingredient.

EN: Which emotion, more than any other, currently dominates your pattern of jokes? Joy, sadness,

anger or passion etc., and why?

MC Anoti: There’s no emotion I can’t produce at anytime. It goes with what am saying.

EN: Do you think the advent of the internet and all the new technologies has helped your comedy career?

MC Anoti: Of course they have, if not  for them you wont be able to see this right now and my future works.

EN: In your experience thus far, what is the best piece of advice in this business you actually

followed? And one you didn’t follow, but now know for sure that you should have?

MC Anoti: The best piece of advice I followed was “DO IT FOR THE FAME, THE MONEY WILL COME.”

EN: Is going Platinum or winning a Grammy important to you, and If you were forced to make only

one choice, which of the two would you choose and why?

MC Anoti: Yes it is, and I’ll love to go platinum, because I’ll love to be heard even on your mind if it’s audible.

EN: What in your opinion is the biggest barrier a comedian like yourself, has to face and overcome to gain commercial success?

MC Anoti: The biggest barrier would likely be women. If you can possess self-control and have focus then you’re good to go.

EN: Why are you the way that you are?

MC Anoti: I am the way I am because that’s how God programmed me.

EN: What is your favorite event in history and why?

MC Anoti: My favorite event is CANTATA (a talent hunt in treasured life Kano), because that was when I was

certified by notherners that this guy is cray.

EN: Ask yourself a question and then answer it.

MC Anoti: If I had to instill one piece of advice in a new born baby’s mind, what advice would I give? “LIVE


EN: Do you write your own routines?

MC Anoti: Yeah, I do.

EN: Where do you get your material from?

MC Anoti: I get my material from what people can relate to,what is trending,what people are familiar with.

EN: What happens if they don’t laugh?

MC Anoti: My friends will laugh.

EN: How do you deal with hecklers?

MC Anoti: I let them know how they got in..(FREE)

EN: But aren’t hecklers helping the show?

MC Anoti: They are, because you just have to say something about them instantly.

EN: Do you hate Dane Cook?

MC Anoti: I don’t hate people.

EN: Say something funny.

MC Anoti: Have you ever wondered why bicycles are not always standing straight? Because they are tired.

EN: In closing, tell us something about any projects and ideas you have in store or you’re working on already?

MC Anoti: Working on a comedy TV series and being your favorite comedian.
