A former rugby player, and now a winemaker, Gerard Bertrand on his maiden visit to Africa visited Nigeria for two days, where he introduced the wine brands which is named after him to a select guest list at Le Connaisseur, Lekki, with a Cote d’Azur feel.
Bertrand has made Gerard Bertrand company into an award-winning winery in South of France.
Specially prepared canapes paired for Gerard Bertrand wines and live music by Kaline made it a special night. The star brand of the night was ‘Cote des Roses’ red, white and rose (it gets its name from a region in South of France, and has a great balance to the palette).
The second day was captivating as Gerard Bertrand conducted a brilliant intimate wine tasting Master Class at Noir restaurant for the high-end trade and wine lovers. Needless to say, they were all mesmerized, delighted and extremely impressed by the 11 wine brands that were introduced and the biodynamic style of farming with which he produces his wines.
The evening ended on a high note, with live music once again from Kaline.
