Emir of Shonga visits Kwara State NYSC Orientation Camp, Yikpata

The emir of Shonga emirate in Kwara state, His royal highness Dr Alihu Eniyaya was at Kwara State NYSC Orientation Camp yesterday 11th November 2015.  He chanllenged Corps members at the stream 1 of the Batch B NYSC Corps members to shun all forms of corrupt practices in order to become good leaders and elders of tomorrow.

The Emir gave the challenge while delivering lecture on the culture, tradition and norms of Nupe people living in Kwara State at the NYSC orientation camp, Yikpata in Edu local government area of the state.

According to a Corps member who spoke off camera,

I enjoyed the emir’s speach as he urged us to make the maximum use of our time. He encouraged us to gather more efforts in order to make a better future leader.

According to him, Corps members should try as much as possible to get acquainted with the culture and tradition as well as rules and regulations guiding their host communities and however enjoined then to be good ambassadors of their families and Nigeria throughout their service year.

The custodian of culture used the avenue to encourage Corps members to try as much as possible to learn a skill or trade so as to be able to tackle both financial and family challenges they would face after service.

  1. Lovely experience at Yikpata Camp, Kwara state. The cooking competition was one of a kind, great menus were prepared but the winner was a simply awesome
