New African Magic Comedy Series Premiere – Do Good

Do-Good is a new hot series on Africa Magic Urban DStv channel 153. A spin-off of a popular soap opera of the 1990s, ‘Do Good‘ catches up with the hilarious lead actor, Do Good, on his return from an unsuccessful 10 year stint overseas in search of a better life. Now back in Nigeria and working as a mechanic, Do Good sets out to rekindle the flame between himself and his one true love, the former house-girl Emem. The only thing is, Emem has finally become an entrepreneur – with her own restaurant that caters to people of diverse extractions and pockets!

Can Do Good “kill off” the competition, gain Emem’s trust once again and win back her love?

Starring a lineup of some of the hottest talents around, we take a closer look at the cast of this new show

Do-Good played by Basorge Tariah Jnr

Basorge as he popularly called is the leading man in the series. The dancer turned actor is also a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Choreography. His film credits include Domitila and he received rave reviews for his portrayal of Do Good in the popular but now rested soap Candlelight.

He plays the role of Do-Good, a young, ambitious comical character. Non-educated yet believes he’s highly diversified in foreign culture.

Emem played by Kate Henshaw

Kate Henshaw is a Cross River native who had her first break when she starred in When the Sun Sets and since then the Medical Microbiology graduate has not looked back. Her acting has won her numerous awards including the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2008. Henshaw has gone on to feature in various movies and has hosted several television shows.

She plays the role of Emem, a naïve lady in matters of the heart and is loyal to the cause. Quite a comical and yet vulnerable character.

Okeremute played by Iruvwe Okeremute

De-Don is a standup comedian and has performed alongside the best of comedy talents in Nigeria. His love for making people laugh led him to start his own radio show Comedy Happy Hour. The Economics graduate counts cooking as one of his hobbies.

He plays the role of Okeremute, a photographer who has an eagerness to make money quick and also is a food monger.

Don Kevwe played by Monica Friday

Monica Friday has been acting and dancing right from her primary school days. She studied studied Mass Communications at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun state. Her acting credits include Being Mrs Elliott, Omolewa, Hoodrush, Ayeku and Murder at Prime Suites. She enjoys writing and dancing.

She plays the role of Kevwe, a feisty and local character.

Etuk played by Mong Kalu

Mong Kalu is a threatre practioner and has acted in several movies including Coverpot and Red Matchet. The Abia native was born and raised in Calabar. Kalu is also a comedian and entertainer and counts Julis Agwu as a great influence.

He plays the role of Etuk, a comical fellow who hails from Akwa Ibom state of Nigeria and who is helplessly in love with Emem.

Sylvanus played by Oliver Duke

Popularly known as McLinchung, Oliver Duke studied Business Administration at the Kwara state Polytechnic. The On Air Personality pursued his childhood dream of acting.

He plays the role of Sylvanus, a businessman who has a sizeable love for both money and Adaku.

Edosa played by Don Kester

Don Kester is theatre arts graduate from the University of Port Harcourt. He has featured in several stage and drama performances. He also is one of the writers of the Do-Good series.

He plays the role of Edosa, a driver with a dubious character.

Adaku played by Uzor Oluchi Osimkpa

Osimkpa is a thespian, actress and writer. Her acting credits include Shallow Waters, Edge of Paradise, Oluronbi – The Musical and Doctor’s Quarters.

She plays the role of Adaku, a character centered on an immigrant from the eastern part of Nigeria.

Blogger played by Lillian Afegbai

The 2014 Big Brother Africa hotshot Lillian Afegbai needs no introduction. The Accounting graduate from the Benson Idahosa University delighted Africa with her dance moves and outgoing personality.

She plays the role of a very inquisitive Blogger.
