Enough Is Enough: We Need Literacy Campaign For Every Nigeria Girl Child – Istifanus

Her Majesty, Queen Beauty Istifanus of Commonwealth Nigeria held a press conference towards the official unveiling & flag off of her pet project  tagged “Literacy campaign for every Nigeria girl child“.  The press conference took place on Tuesday, 20th October, 2015 at Best Western Startfire hotel, 128, Joel Ogunnaike Street, GRA, ikeja, Lagos.

 

During the opening speech of queen Beauty Istifanus, it was observed that she was actually overwhelmed by the level of turn up and support given to her.

In her words;

Am happy seeing all of you here because I didn’t expect this level of support.

According to her, the project is very important to her. She been from the Northern part of Nigeria, you will agree with me that she has first hand feeling of the educational challenges of the Nigeria girl child.

She embarked on the initiative of the Nigeria girl child in order to help every girl child in Nigeria especially the less privileged.

She concluded her speech by saying

Enough is enough! The Nigeria girl child has suffered enough and this is a better time to make a difference.

We held a short interview with queen Beauty Istifanus where she spoke on her motivation, as well as her aspirations, especially as it concerns her dream of helping the Nigeria girl child. She said she has always dreamt of working for charity and helping the less-privileged. She got her main motivation from her mother who was also a model. She also added that she got another round of motivation from the last crown she won as Miss Peace Ambassador 2012. She said that she wants peace and good development for this country and that’s why she went for the Miss Commonwealth pageant. Now she is here to fulfill that dream with this initiative of Literacy Campaign For Every Nigeria Girl Child.

Speaking at the press conference, Alhaji Abdulahi Ladipo commended the organizer of Miss Commonwealth Nigeria, Mr. Ayo Akinwalere (CEO, Strud Models Int’l) for his effort. He added that in as much as the organizer has been up and doing, the society also has a role to play. It has been very challenging running a pageant like this in Nigeria because nobody is ready to support startups. He admonished everyone involved in the initiative that they have to work and work very hard.

Her Majesty, Queen Beauty Istifanus was accompanied by other queens of Commonwealth Nigeria which includes

Mrs. Phoebeana Imafidon – Mrs Commonwealth Nigeria 2014/2016

Aderinoye Queen – Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture 2015 Title Holder 

Precious Ugo – Commonwealth Nigeria Education 2015 Title Holder

Onuegbu Ivannah – Miss Teen Commonwealth Nigeria 2014/2016

Among those present were Mr. Muyiwa Osinaike(MD/CEO, Francosh Entertainment & Judge, Maltina Dance All), Mr. Lanre Kuponiyi (MD/CEO, Brand House Communications), Alhaji Abdullahi Ladipo(President, Eagle & Dragon International), Mr. Ayo Akinwalere (CEO, Strud Models Int’l) among others.

One of the delegates present at the press conference, Mr. Muyiwa Osinaike advised the queen saying

The queen must be specific in her initiatives. Talking about qualities of a queen, you must be bold to face challenges ahead. Been a queen is not all about beauty, in whatever you do, do it like a queen. Even in the bathroom, you must bath like a queen.
